Howard Lake | 9 July 2007 | News AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to TwitterTwitterShare to FacebookFacebookShare to LinkedInLinkedInShare to EmailEmailShare to WhatsAppWhatsAppShare to MessengerMessengerShare to MoreAddThis Sport Relief and its Northern Ireland partner, the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, are accepting applications for the next round of funding, with a deadline of 26th July. Sport Relief was set up by Comic Relief and BBC Sport to support community organisations using sport to make a lasting impact on the lives of disadvantaged people. Sport Relief has two themes — increasing access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and helping people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to regain their confidence and self-esteem. Groups working with more disadvantaged people will be prioritised over sporting organisations seeking running costs. Grants will be awarded in the range of £1,000 to £10,000. The overall budget for 2007 and 2008 is £60,000 annually. The next deadline after 26th July is 14th November.
