Dave Matthews Band To Host “A Concert For Charlottesville” With All-Star Lineup

first_imgIn response to the recent events in their hometown of Charlottesville, VA, Dave Matthews Band will host an evening of music and unity that will be FREE for members of the Charlottesville and University of Virginia communities through an online request process. The event – produced by Live Nation, Starr Hill Presents and the University of Virginia – will take place on Sunday, September 24, at UVA’s Scott Stadium in Charlottesville.“A Concert for Charlottesville” will feature Dave Matthews Band, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Chris Stapleton, Ariana Grande, Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, The Roots, Cage the Elephant, and special guests.While tickets are free, attendees are encouraged to make a donation to the “Concert for Charlottesville Fund” at the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. Beneficiaries of the fund will include victims of the events in Charlottesville on August 11 and 12, and their families, first responders, and organizations devoted to the promotion of healing, unity and justice locally and nationwide. Donations can be made here.Tickets will be allocated initially to residents of the greater Charlottesville area, and also to UVA students, faculty and staff. An online ticket request period is currently underway here and will end on Monday, September 11, at Noon ET. Disabled Veterans have opportunity to go on turkey hunt

LeBron James, other Lakers express frustration on social media over death of George Floyd

first_imgAnother death of a black man in police custody has angered people around the NBA, including Lakers star LeBron James.A video of a Minneapolis police officer kneeling atop the neck of a man named George Floyd who later died circulated through news and social media circles. James weighed in on Instagram, posting a still from the video of the officer juxtaposed with a picture of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick kneeling on the field in protest, overlaid with the text: “This … Is Why.”“Do you understand NOW!!??!!?? Or is it still blurred to you??” he wrote.James has consistently spoken up about the shootings and killings of unarmed black men by law enforcement and others that have been brought to light in recent years by viral videos. Floyd died Monday after being arrested on suspicion of forgery, then sent to a hospital. The video shows the officer kneeling on his neck for several minutes as Floyd complains that he can’t breathe then appears to lose consciousness. first_imgNedo Turković (1989) is the new striker of FC ”Travnik” after he left FC ”Lovćen” from Montenegro.He played in youth school of Željezničar, for FC ”SAŠK Napredak” and he played for Travnik in the period of 2010/2011.Turković said that he played a good season in FC ”Lovćen”, but he’d rather play for FC ”Travnik”.With his coming the list of transfers to Travnik has been finalised.
