first_img Written by Tags: Big Ten/Cade Hall/Josh Love/Josh Oliver/Maverik Stadium/Michigan Wolverines/San Jose State/Senior Day/The Associated Press/Tyler Nevens/Utah State Football FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailLOGAN, Utah-After a 56-17 dismantling of Hawaii in the late window last Saturday evening, No. 14 Utah State football returns to action Saturday at home against San Jose State.The Aggies’ rivalry with the Spartans dates back to 1940 with San Jose State leading the all-time series 20-17-1.However, Utah State has won the last seven games in this series and the last three at home.The Aggies have achieved their highest ranking in The Associated Press poll since 1961 when that Utah State squad finished ranked 10th.When ranked by The Associated Press, Utah State is currently 5-1 in its history, including last week’s win at Hawaii.The prolific Aggies’ offense has amassed 58 touchdowns already on the season and with three more touchdowns will eclipse the school record of 60 set in 2011.Furthermore, Utah State has scored 451 points on the season, just short of the record 454 points scored in 2012.The Aggies, who are 5-0 at Maverik Stadium this season, will honor 25 seniors Saturday afternoon.At home this season, the Aggies have scored at least 40 points in all five games and have won by an average of 38.2 points.Utah State is in the midst of an 8-game winning streak and in that span they have amassed 52.5 points a game and 503.4 yards per contest.The Aggies’ 8-game winning streak is the fifth-longest in FBS college football as they are tied with the Michigan Wolverines of the Big Ten Conference for that distinction.San Jose State is in the midst of a highly unsuccessful season as they come into Logan Saturday at 1-8 and 1-4 in conference play.The Spartans’ offense is led by quarterback Josh Love (1,753 passing yards, 13 TD’s/7 INT’s) tailback Tyler Nevens (108 car, 428 yards, 4 TD’s) and receiver Josh Oliver (49 rec, 580 yards, 3 TD’s).Defensive lineman Cade Hall leads the Spartans with three sacks on the season.
